Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Aquarium Tracker handles information for the public website, mobile app, public profiles, shared aquarium pages, and related support interactions.

Last updated: July 3, 2026

Overview

Aquarium Tracker is an aquarium management app and website for logging tank care, publishing aquarium-related content, and reading educational resources. This Privacy Policy applies to Aquarium Tracker features that link to it.

Information we collect

We collect information you choose to provide when you use Aquarium Tracker, such as account identifiers, profile information, support messages, aquarium names, tank descriptions, photos, water parameters, maintenance records, livestock and plant records, equipment records, feeding or fertilization settings, custom species information, posts, comments, reactions, and other aquarium care content.

If you make a profile, aquarium, post, comment, or shared link public, the content you publish may be visible to other users and website visitors. Public content can include your display name, username, avatar, premium or AquaMind badge status, country, bio, hobby start date or similar profile timeline fields if provided, aquarium photos, aquarium type, volume, age, description, latest water parameters, livestock, equipment, feeding, fertilization, post content, comments, reaction counts, and related timestamps.

We also collect limited technical and usage information from the website and app, such as pages viewed, buttons clicked, browser or device information, approximate location inferred from network information, cookies or similar identifiers, app instance identifiers, diagnostics, logs, and information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.

How we use information

We use information to provide Aquarium Tracker features, save and sync aquarium records, display public profiles and shared content, respond to support requests, maintain security, troubleshoot issues, understand product usage, improve the app and website, and communicate important service updates.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand aquarium care patterns, improve calculators and educational content, and measure the performance of public pages. Aggregated information is not intended to identify a specific person.

AquaMind and automated assistance

AquaMind and related insight features may use the aquarium data you provide, such as water parameters, tasks, livestock, equipment, tank history, and questions you ask, to generate aquarium guidance, summaries, graphs, and recommendations.

AI-assisted outputs can be incomplete or inaccurate. We use these features to support aquarium organization and education, not to replace your own judgment, test kit instructions, veterinary advice, manufacturer instructions, or qualified specialist guidance.

Cookies and analytics

The website uses a cookie consent banner and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use public pages. Non-essential analytics storage is denied by default and is enabled only if you accept analytics cookies. Analytics may record events such as page views and app download clicks, along with technical information such as browser, device, approximate region, and random identifiers.

Analytics may also record calculator interactions, such as tool name, selected units, selected presets, and coarse result categories. We do not intentionally send raw calculator input values through these events.

You can decline analytics cookies in the cookie banner. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Google explains how information from sites and apps using Google services is handled at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and Google Analytics privacy information is available at support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245.

When information is shared

We share information with service providers that help run Aquarium Tracker, including hosting, database, storage, analytics, app distribution, infrastructure, diagnostics, support, and AI or automation providers. These providers process information so the service can work.

The public website uses backend APIs and public storage URLs to display public profiles, posts, comments, aquariums, and aquarium images. Information you choose to publish through public profiles, posts, comments, aquariums, or shared links is shared publicly according to the visibility settings and sharing features you use.

Shared aquarium API responses may include tank metadata, latest and historical measurements, measurement dates, livestock dates, equipment dates, feeding and fertilization schedules, and other fields needed to render or link shared tank pages, even if not every field is visibly displayed.

Public post pages and APIs may display a limited set of comments with author display information, avatars, usernames, premium badge status, timestamps, and comment text. Public images may be served from public storage or from public or external image URLs associated with submitted content.

Public pages may also be indexed by search engines or shown in social previews when a profile, post, aquarium, or guide link is shared.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users or the service, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

App stores and payments

If you download Aquarium Tracker or make a purchase through Apple App Store or Google Play, the app store may process your store account, device, purchase, refund, and payment information under its own terms and privacy policy. Aquarium Tracker does not receive your full payment card number from the app stores.

Data retention, account deletion, and content removal

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, keep records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and operate backups. Public content can remain visible until it is removed, deleted, or its visibility changes.

If Aquarium Tracker allows you to create an account, you can request account deletion and deletion of personal information by contacting us at niemiec.say@gmail.com. You can also use that address to request access, correction, export, or removal of public content connected to your account.

When we delete an account based on a valid request, we also delete or de-identify personal information associated with that account unless we need to retain limited information for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute, backup, or operational reasons. Some removed public content may remain temporarily in caches, backups, logs, search engine indexes, or social previews outside our direct control.

Your choices

You can choose what aquarium content to enter, what content to make public, whether to accept analytics cookies on the website, whether to share profile, post, aquarium, or tank links, and whether to contact us to request access, correction, export, deletion, or removal of personal information.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under local law. We will respond to valid privacy requests in accordance with applicable requirements.

Children

Aquarium Tracker is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Aquarium Tracker may process and store information in countries other than where you live. When information is transferred internationally, we use service providers and safeguards appropriate for operating the service.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Aquarium Tracker changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last updated date. Material changes may be communicated through the app, website, or another reasonable method.
